The online course  “Getting Behind The Eight Ball of Autism Spectrum Disorder ” will discuss the historical background of autism, the influence of  Dr. Leo Kanner, Dr. Hans Asperger, and Dr. Bruno Bettelheim in diagnosing Autism (AU) and the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorder (DSM-5), the many names used for ASD throughout the years, symptoms displayed by individuals diagnosed with the ASD, and some of the current treatments being used to treat individuals diagnosed with ASD.
