5 Psychological Theories of Motivation
DESCRIPTIONThe eLearning course ”5 Psychological Theories of Motivation ” covers the five theories of motivation. First, “Hertzberg’s Two-Factor Theory” sometimes called “Two Factor Theory” examines motivation in the workplace. Second, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a motivational theory in psychology based on the Five-Tier Model of Human needs. Third, Hawthorne Effect discusses how people are motivated to perform better, if the individual is participating in some type of study or research. Fourth, “Expectancy Theory of Motivation” discusses how individuals are motivated when there is a set of goals related to efforts and performance, some form of a reward, and the need to do good. Finally, the “Three-Dimensional Theory of Attribution” examines a person’s own perceptions or attributions in determining the effort the person will implement in future goals or activities.
